As you think, so you will be. And as you are, so you will do.

Thinking, Being, Doing

Visualize the ideal. And let me help you figure out how to get there.

"Like some of the rest of us, I hope to leave this world a better place."

Lee Thayer’s career as a pioneer and influential innovator in the design and development of high-performance organizations — and in the kind of leadership required of the top executive to achieve that — has spanned more than five decades.

Early on in his career, Dr. Thayer served as consultant to several of the Fortune 500 and other notable companies, such as IBM, AT&T, Westinghouse, Boeing, Curtiss-Wright, Pratt-Whitney, McDonnell Douglas, Phillips, Shell, General Motors, Sealtest Foods, and Hallmark. He has consulted with the U.S. Air Force, the Postal Service, numerous banks and other institutions, universities around the globe, and West Point. Coming from a high-level executive position in industry, coupled with experience as a jazz performer and arranger and university degrees in the humanities, engineering, and psychology, Dr. Thayer has developed a revolutionary and practical framework for understanding what it takes to lead the way to great organizations. He was also a distinguished university professor in major universities both in the USA and abroad (e.g., the Harvard Graduate School of Business, The University of Amsterdam, Queensland University of Technology in Australia, Universidad Complutense in Mexico, etc.) until his semi-retirement in 1991.  Today, Dr. Thayer limits his work to small to medium-sized organizations where, as he says, the impact is more immediate and measurable.

PERSPECTIVE:How Our Lives Get Channeled

This book takes you on an adventure, an adventure into why you are the way you are, and hence why the world you live in is the way you perceive it. It is a challenging adventure — this seeing why you are the way you are and your world is the way it is. Most people don't care, but they end up regretting not understanding this whole business of perspective in their lives gone by. You are holding in your hands the prescription for avoiding that all-too-common regret at the end of life. Herein are the tools for understanding the one thing in your life you can do something about now — your perspective on things.

WHAT READERS SAY

“With all the books and articles written about Leadership, and all the times the word is used every day, I wondered what it REALLY means to lead.  I wondered if leaders are born or made.  Studying Dr. Lee Thayer’s writing and principles has changed the way I think, the way I show up, the questions I ask, the way I listen to answers, and the answers I give.  Dr. Thayer distinguishes between those who can create high performing organizations and those who cannot.   Only those who are willing to take a hard look in the mirror, ask themselves “to what end”, and do what is needed, have a chance of getting there.  Thayer’s leadership principles provide the path for those who want to take the journey.”
